As part of any online business promotion campaign the method of article marketing should be the first considered in my opinion. Article marketing has several useful reasons to make it your first choice. They can be the most cost effect piece of your campaign, they are quick to produce, they show expertise, they promote your product, service, website, and they ad fresh original content to your website or blog.

Cost Effective:
Article marketing is cost effective because if you write them yourself you only have your time invested and even if you use a ghostwriter service you can find them online at very low cost. Once the article is written it cost nothing to ad it to your website or blog, nor does it cost anything to submit to even the most popular and successful article directories online. Which the search engines love by the way.

Quick to Produce:
You can write an original article in a small amount of time and with all the informational resources online or in your local library gathering your facts will not take long either. Once you have gathered your facts and do a quick outline of them you can piece together a 500 to 750 word article in no time at all. Remember that your reader is looking at a computer screen so if you keep your articles in this word count frame it will be much easier to maintain their attention.

Show Your Expertise:
By carefully gathering the most relevant facts about the topic of your article and briefly and precisely explaining those facts you will show your expertise in the subject matter. Remember to not get to technical in your explanation, try to write as if you were talking to a family member or a friend and you are telling them about your topic. Online articles are not part of a novel and they will read better if done in a conversational format.

Promotion:
Whether you are using your article campaign to promote your website, blog, product, or service do not make your article a sales pitch or sales page. Give good useful information and grab your readers attention and help them gain the facts they seek. Your authors box at the end of your article is where you want to make a pitch. If you gave good information in your article your reader will be inclined to use your authors box to see if you have more useful facts at your website. That is where you do your selling, on your site.

Original Content:
This may be the most important information I share with you. With the overwhelming growth of the Internet there is a big effort being done by all the major search engines to exclude duplicate content from their search engines. They have even been known to blacklist websites for it. Now how do you avoid having duplicate content? Easy you write your own articles and do not even use some one else's article as an example to craft your own. Remember your original articles and your own writing style will set you apart and establish you as an expert in your field, copying some other work will just show you as lazy and dishonest and I know that I do not need to tell you where that will lead your business.

In closing remember that search engines provide free traffic and they love original content in the form of articles and blog posts. That is why they watch the top article directories constantly every day. So if you do not already have an article marketing campaign in place for your business why not start one today and get your share of that free traffic. Do not let yourself be intimidated by this method of promoting your business, and remember articles are quick to produce, they show expertise, they promote your product, service, website, and they ad fresh original content to your website or blog.

Well to start off with Empowerism looks to be the network marketing scheme that it is BUT there is so much more going on with this program than just a network marketing scheme.

Empowerism also carries 24 tools to help you optimise your website for search engines. You will find tools that will help you finding your keyword rich domain name down to link popularity checks and many more. An invaluable resource for all webmasters. There is also the opportunity to insert 25 of your URLs into a search engine submitter page and these will be submitted for you once a month.

The Empowerism Training Center also helps webmasters with some lessons on email marketing, newbie corner, how to start a business, sitemaps, Google tutorials and much more.

And of course Empowerism will help you with all of the tools that you need to market your site from banners to website templates and lead capture pages.

Frankly Empowerism has so much going for it that it is hard to do it justice in this article. I have seen some negative feedback on the program but that can only really be from people who have subscribed and haven't taken advantage of all the training that is available and the lead capture aids (such as rebrandable ebooks) that you can use to build your business. I also suspect that these people are the same people who expect money to come pouring in just because they are a member of the program. This will not happen as you will need to work at promoting your sites and your Empowerism pages. My suggestion would be for you to buy a domain name and then use one of the lead capture pages. You can then promote this page by writing articles and submitting them to directories, submitting your site to free directories, joining forums and participarting in discussions with your site URL in your signature, advertising your site on free classified sites etc.

The Plug-In Profit Site (PIPS) is a free website built for you by PIPS creator Stone Evans, when you sign up as a PIPS affiliate. The Plug-In Profit website is most easily defined as an affiliate marketing website. It is delivered to you pre-loaded with affiliate programs that you can then market in an effort to get others to sign-up. When individuals do join from your link, you will earn either an instant commission or be in position to earn a future commission on sales they make.

The basic PIPS website advertises different programs for those who are looking to start their own business. Additionally, the website includes products for sale, that when purchased will provide you with a commission. Along with your website, you also receive the PIPS sales page that you are able to promote. This page is embedded with your affiliate links so that when someone joins Plug-In Profit through your sales page, they will be added into your downline, giving you the ability to earn commissions under all programs that they join through PIPS. Currently, those programs include SFI, Empowerism, Host4Profit, Success University and Leisure Audio Books. Basically, it is like making a total of 5 sales at one time. With this program, you can earn a residual income under all 5 programs.

The PIPS website is advertised as completely free. The set-up of the site is free, however, there are costs still involved when starting your own home based business.

You will need a hosting company in order to host your website. PIPS requires that you utilize Host4Profit which is a $24.95 a month charge. Since Host4Profit is also one of the affiliate programs you are promoting, you earn $10.00 a month for every referral you send that uses Host4Profit as their web-hosting company. This does not have to be individuals using PIPS. If you refer 10 new accounts to Host4Profit, you will receive $100.00 a month in commissions from Host4Profit.

A secondary cost that you may not be aware of, is the need to have your own domain name. This can be purchased anywhere and it is suggested you search for the best deal. Domain names can range from $3.99 to 15.99 a year.

The last mandatory charge you will be faced with is an initial charge to Empowerism. This initial charge is $24.95 however, you are not required to pay any other charge for Empowerism if you choose against it.

Those three charges are the mandatory charges you will spend starting your own home based PIPS business. The following will detail the optional expenses you can choose to incur when starting your own home based business using the PIPS business model.

One of the features of the PIPS website is to provide the owner a 400 day pre-written newsletter to be available via an auto-responder service. The auto-responder service that you must utilize in order to have the newsletter set up for you is GetResponse. If you choose to have the free Getresponse service, you will receive a partial pre-written newsletter but you can then create the rest of your messages yourself. In order to receive all 216 pre-written emails, you must have the upgraded GetResponse package. The cheapest initial charge is 17.95 a month. GetResponse does offer other packages where you will pay more up front but pay less often.

One of the options that you have, is to keep the free account until your business begins to grow and then upgrade your auto-responder at a later time. There are benefits of having the upgraded version, beside the pre-written emails, but you will need to weigh these benefits to see if the upgrade option is right for you.

As stated earlier, you will need to sign up for Empowerism, which holds an initial fee of 24.95 and then 19.95 a month thereafter. You do not need to keep a paid membership if you do not want to as you can still receive commissions having a free membership. However, there are perks to having the paid membership versus the free account and again, this is up to you.

Success University has a monthly membership fee of $50.00 but you are not required to join. Many PIPS members have joined Success University due to all that Success University has to offer. However, just as many PIPS members have opted to not join this program and still do very well with the PIPS business. Those who choose not to join, simply remove Success University from their website. Since the website if fully customizable, you can add and remove products and programs at your leisure.

Another selling point to PIPS is the training manual that comes with the membership. In that training manual there are a variety of suggestions on how to grow your business. Some of those suggestions cost money to implement and some do not. It is important for the new business owner to realize that the PIPS business is still your business and ultimately, you are responsible for deciding what you will spend your money on to grow your business. Getting the right sponsor, however, can also go a long way in helping you navigate through the decision-making process.

Can you make money using PIPS?

You can make money using the PIPS program, however, you can not expect to be rich within 45 days of starting your own home based business. This is something that you have to be willing to work at. How much you end up making is entirely up to you. Those who work hard on a consistent basis and are willing to learn and try new approaches to find what works for them will be the ones who are successful.

Many individuals who join PIPS watch their business evolve. They take their business into a direction that most interests them. The Plug-In Profit website becomes the foundation for many off-shoot online businesses. PIPS owners have grown their business, entered new fields, different niches and have reached heights beyond their expectation. However, all of those who have experienced a high level of success have given tribute to PIPS as the stepping stone by which they learned the ropes in earning an online income.
